When you find your body
in the future

‘Body excavation’:

UNIT 2

<When you find your body in the future> shows how we lose our individuality as we strive towards goals, represented by geometric, cube-like bodies. It stimulates the imagination by speculating on what our bodies might look like in the future when they are finally dug up from the earth. This work visually expresses the essence of fragmented human memory in modern society, creating abstract and metaphorical visual poetry.

According to Eastern philosophy, we can see the past and the future through the earth - it is the ground on which we stand and live. However, we are gradually lifting our feet off the ground and stepping on each other in order to rise higher. It conveys a message that rejects the standardisation, systematisation and organisation of society that suppresses and controls human desires through the body.
