Keep Looking Up
The video "Keep Looking Up" in the series "Collapsing Sand Castle" presents the meaning of a deteriorated home. I have always been concerned about my own space. This has continued until now and will be an endless concern.
Home is the essence of man and the place of human existence and meaning. An apartment is something indispensable for everyone who spent their childhood in Korea. However, due to capitalism and a competitive society, houses in Korea have become a representative asset that everyone aspires to regardless of age. As a space that creates class distinctions, one can only enter a higher social class if they have a house. A house that is covered with desire and becomes a monstrous object is a reality itself and an eternally unreachable dream in Korea. People move and walk in an endless chain and find only “momentary happiness”.
Criticizing the modern society where we live looking up but cannot ascend, it shows that success and our space in society are like sandcastles that can easily collapse.
